To be a Christian, then, is to be committed to action and to live out our faith through a generous service to one another. Involvement in ministry makes us more like Jesus who “came not to be served, but to serve“; He is our Teacher.

These are our ministry areas where you can share your strengths and talents with our parish community.
Please prayerfully consider your God given gifts and strengths and how you can use your time, talents and treasure to get involved in our God given community. We love our Parish community!

Prayer is the calling of every Christian and of every member of Our Lady of the Southern Cross Parish. Through Baptism we are initiated into the one Body of Christ and commissioned to care for one another by prayer as well as action.
Our Church is open every day and we encourage you to enter into this sacred space and spend some quiet time in developing your relationship with Jesus.

Prayer Team Ministry
Through Baptism we are initiated into the one Body of Christ and commissioned to care for one another by prayer as well as action.
This ministry of prayer is exercised after each weekend Mass and after the monthly Eucharistic Adoration (“the Experience”) for any parishioner or visitor who is in need of prayer for any personal reason.
Discipleship Ministries
Discipleship begins in baptism, our promise to live and grow as a follower of Jesus, and continues as we engage our faith critically and creatively. No matter where you are on your journey, we have opportunities for you to do that.
Children's Ministry
Inspired by the story found in Luke 2:52 of Jesus growing in wisdom and favour after spending time in the temple as a child, 252 Kids is a program that that creates an opportunity for children in Prep to Grade 5 to celebrate the good news of Jesus in fun & engaging ways and to grow in discipleship in Jesus with each other through stage-appropriate content.
First Look is a program focused on teaching Christian values to toddlers aged 2 to 4 (affectionately referred to as Tiny Tots) in creative and fun ways that goes beyond simple child-minding.
Both 252 Kids and First Look are simultaneously held at the GOOD SHEPHERD HUB (Catholic Early Ed Care building) next to the Church during our 9:00am Sunday Mass During School term periods.
Parents are invited to register their children and take them to classrooms before the beginning of Mass.
Children in grades 4 & 5 join the congregation for the presentation of the gifts and Holy Communion. Younger children stay until the end of Mass when are they signed out by their parents.
Our volunteers in this ministry hold a current blue card and a police check.
Discipleship Groups
We encourage all our members to continue to grow as Disciples of Jesus. Disciples groups are small groups of 6-10 people who gather for a certain number of weeks to focus on studying and learning God’s Word in Holy Scripture.
